Nearly lilac time but not quite.
The world, rushes. Bright lights in the city, rain on windows, people wrapped up, trees without leaves line pavements and January blues come from a pub as people raise glasses and chatter fills the air. We come together through this hibernation time and, be. Warmth of connection.
Tree out front swaying, twiggy branches fluttering, wet slate roof and red bricked walls on silent road off the main street. Gardens, quiet, under cover of leaves. Sky, stormy. Birds hiding out in evergreens and grass, wet.
Yesterday some glimmers of sun and tiny birds in that tree, chirping as if spring had arrived. I knew it was only pretending because that’s what happens every year at this time in the UK. Gardeners tug at hats and look at seed collections. Soon. Soon, they tell themselves.
I dream of the Mediterranean. Of orange trees and olive groves. Of sea and sand and tiny boats. Of beaches and warmth and sunshine. And plazas with fountains and colour and old people sitting round not minding being old, as all the generations come out to play, and the smell of garlic and red wine floats into the sky.

Here’s a link to some recipes, because life has been busy and I haven’t had time to photograph anything I’ve eaten!
How are you? I’d really like to know. Is your sky stormy or sunny? Are birds flying or cars honking? Does it rain where you are and do you mind? What are you looking forward to? Perhaps you’ll tell me in the comments. What are the simple ordinary things that make your life rich?

I’ve started recording, after many months, well longer 🤦♀️ of trying. I’ll be creating a YouTube with my mini Ayurvedic ebooks serialised, yoga nidra recordings and fall asleep stories. I’ll also be recording the whole ebooks for paying subscribers over here. Goodness how slow I’ve been at this!
I’m off to get on with my slow Sunday now. There will be walks in any weather, catching time, eating nice things, reading books, enjoying human connection and…
Candlelight, just because, it’s that time of year.
Wishing you the warmest,
Lucy x
Sunny skies here... but a teeny bit smokey as we move into burning season - thankfully, it’s not too bad yet. Lots of people are hanging Chinese New Year’s decorations, and it’s still high season for tourists (very glad that’s ending soon). Sending wishes for a beautiful Sunday, Lucy!
