In last weeks Ayyrveda ‘short’ I talked about vata dosha out of balance. This week we’re taking a look at Pitta Dosha when it is out of balance. This weeks and next weeks shorts are very, well, short!
Pitta
When Pitta is in balance within a pitta type who is in balance; they usually have very good digestion and appetite, lots of energy, they sleep well, their body temperature is warm, they have a shining complexion, strong intellect, can focus really well, are good at making decisions, great speakers. They are precise, direct and sharp-witted.
When pitta dosha is out of balance in any of us we become impatient, frustrated, irritable, jealous, angry, resentful, judgmental, perfectionist, driven, overly ambitious. We can develop an insatiable hunger/thirst, suffer from indigestion and acid reflux, heartburn, infections, hormonal imbalance, hot flushes, bleeding, ulcers, yellowing of eyes, inflammation, inflamed skin, rashes, hot itchy skin, oiliness, loose stools, excessive body heat, red inflamed eyes, light sensitivity. Diseases are related to too much heat in the body. A reactive tendency when stressed ‘what did you do wrong?’.
Next week I will outline the kapha imbalance systems, then the following week I will offer some ways in which you can balance each of the doshas.
If you enjoy these Ayurveda ‘shorts’ a like will let me know to carry on!
Warmest wishes,

Hi Lucy, These short snippets are always just long enough for some meaty content! This morning I am wondering if there is any research linking our health/balance with the climate? At this time of the year the light is saying one thing and the weather another and everything seems to be teetering in and out of balance around us!
I hope you are resting & starting to feel better 🧡
