It's been helpful to have your perspective on vata and meat, it is making a difference! And your sweet potato cardamon mash now has my mouth watering 😋😊

I’m glad you like the combination! I was vegetarian for 18 years and vegan for 5, it ruined my health and I was all over the place emotionally. After I healed all the digestive issues and related symptoms, I started to train in Ayurveda because the Ayurvedic approach is what healed me, and I was astounded that for my constitution – Vata/pitta meat may be needed. The recommendation was 4 oz of red meat for two weeks to start nourishing my body and grounding me? I remember a friends husband went out and bought steak. I thought I would never be able to eat it. But my body devoured it, and I felt so physically and mentally and emotionally satisfied. I just felt warm and calm, and after a while I started to gain some weight. I will always be on the thin side because that’s what Vata brings, but I don’t look or feel undernourished anymore, and emotionally I am calm, grounded, steady and happy.

It's so interesting to hear your experiences. Based on your suggestion I tried reintroducing some beef. After 2 days I did feel so much more grounded but my gut was complaining and felt like I'd swallowed concrete! I wonder if you have any thoughts on this?

Hi Vicki, yes I would suggest making a soup that you blend and drink, or if that is too much try making beef stock/broth from bones and drink that each day. You could then progress to minced beef and make a RAGU and just eat a small portion. Let me know how you get on with that. If the RAGU feels too heavy on your digestion, revert back to a blended soup/stock/broth.
