This is a beautiful post Lucy. I love that teaching about the difference between happiness sought from the outside versus the inside... we so need this teaching in Western Capitalist-driven culture. And I love your descriptions of Autumn. You're almost making me nostalgic for the Northern Hemisphere. Even after all these years, my body still seems to want to turn inwards at this time of year!
Yes we do, to a slightly lesser extent. It tends to be the non-native trees that are deciduous over here. We get the most beautiful sunsets and skies in Autumn though and it is my favourite season here in Auckland.... but still feels like it comes at the wrong time of year for my body, even after 18 years 🙃
I really appreciate your words here, Lucy. I’m in a season where it is becoming quite obvious that when I go outside I go inside. That when I spend time in nature, I’m actually digging up my own nature.
I appreciate the slow noticing of the seasons changing 💛
Beautiful photos and thoughts. I’m cooking beetroot in my new instant pot later today. Have chicken in there as we speak. Learning new things for autumn to help nourish both my husband and I.

Thank you, Vicki 🙏🏽 Do you get the autumn colours and atmosphere over where you are?

Thank you for your reflections - inner contentment is so often overlooked 🙏💛🙏
Thank you, Emaho 🙏🏽 So worthwhile to cultivate. Sometimes it means being willing to move through a dopamine trough to get there 🧡

Thank you, Allison 🙏🏽 That is so beautifully put 🌻
I would like to add those beautiful outro words to the Joy Dots: “Warmth & fondness” 🥰 - “Rich hibernation” 🥰 - “Cosy times” 🥰 ...Yum!! Xxx
🙏🏽🌻🧡

Not my photos I must add, and I got the names of photographers confused, will do better next time 🙏🏽 I had chicken today too!
Beautiful photos!
Not mine, but I got the photographers mixed up, need to do better on that next time 🤦♀️
