Your writing always allows helps my mind to feel more spacious, Lucy. Thank you.
I think it's the simple, primal things that bring such a feeling of deep settledness don't they. You were animals back in your natural habit together! Xxx
Thank you, May. That’s good to hear, it’s my reason for writing, and recording, I can’t wait until my son has helped me understand how to use the recording equipment, but it was fun doing an audio of the letter with ipad!
Love your descriptions of winter Lucy. Christmas is the one time of year when I feel nostalgic for English winter. This is my 18th Christmas in the Southern hemisphere but I will never get used to a mid-summer Christmas! It's one of the many layers of grief and absence that come with being an immigrant. Thanks for vicariously sharing your winter scenes so vividly 💗
I think I would feel the same way, Vicki. I used to not enjoy this time of year, when summer disappeared, and then when I understood it was vata aspect of my constitution going out of balance that was the problem, I started to make sure that it didn’t, and then I started to see the beauty in this time of year. 18 Christmas’s down under, that’s a lot. I bet you have some beautiful landscapes…
Yes Auckland is beautiful at this time of year. I'll share some pics in my post on Weds - the pōhutakawa trees all burst into brilliant red for a few weeks, right in time for Christmas. They are the trees that line the shore, so the combo of the blue ocean and the red trees makes quite a striking backdrop to Christmas ❤️💙
So much yes to creating the right conditions, Lucy. And too cool (no pun intended) about the below-freezing sleeping arrangement!!
As we approach the solstice and year ahead, I'm reflecting on my core values and what I stand for. I want to get extra clear and articulate around those so that external opinions and urgent proclamations feel less jarring and less energetically tumultuous.
I find the same Dana. Recently I had to dig deep and think about the intentions of my substack and whether to continue, and I decided yes, I can and never have been able to change the world or please all people, but I can do the tiny thing that I can do with my substack, and even if only one person benefits from it, then it’s worth it. 🧡
Thanks, Josefine, I’ve had my recording equipment for a while, the intention is to record my book once I can use it properly, and fall asleep stories to help stress minds fall asleep, and warm words to soothe tired brains, and a few other things, starting with another book serialised and a podcast. But I’m holding back on all that until I can make professional recordings. 🙏🏽

I look forward to that 😁
