The wild garlic, it looks like "ramps" allium tricoccum. As a life- plantsman, I've not come across this -what I understand sometimes prolific- onion member and I am an East coast woodland adventurer. Where o where?

I just know it as wild garlic, and yes it is prolific! In these woods I go to here in the U.K., it completely covers the ground. But in the right setting this is great because it’s the lean time of year in terms of green edibles. There’s another one I know of as three cornered leek, also prolific, someone planted a tiny amount in a shared garden once, I remember it took over both gardens and travelled on to all the neighbours. Mind you another useful plant when in the right setting, leaves and bulbs. In the wild you wouldn’t take the bulbs, but when trying to get on top of it in your garden (never plant in your garden 🤦‍♀️) digging up the bulbs is a bonus, lots of lovely little white onions to pickle.

Wow, Lucy, that recipe looks amazing. Interestingly, although our climate is quite different in Thailand from where you are, bunches of newly harvested garlic have been showing up in the markets the past few days. It’s also being sold out of pick-up trucks and at a small booth in front of 7-11!

Wishing you a beautiful, easeful one. xo
